ABU SIMBEL
Located 280 km from Aswan and 70 km from the border with Sudan. This excursion is done by plane or by coach from Aswan. The most beautiful and whimsical construction in Egyptian history is located there, the temple of Ramses II the great. The temple of Abu Simbel was a challenge for the pharaoh's architects, just as it was some three thousand years later for the engineers of the entire world, who had to save it from the waters of the Nile. It is there where the so-called “ "miracle of the sun." Twice a year, on March 21 and September 21, at 5 hours and 58 minutes a ray of sunlight crossed the 65 meters that separated the sanctuary from the outside and flooded Amon's left shoulder with light – Ra. The danger of it being submerged by the waters of the artificial lake reached global resonance, so UNESCO appointed two commissions in charge of studying how to save this work.
TEMPLE OF ISIS AT PHILAE

By tradition, every Egyptian had to make a pilgrimage to Philae at least once a year. This excursion is done by coach to pier, where you go by boat to the temple.
